Self employed, sub contract fire alarm engineer
I have been working in the fire alarm industry for over 26 years and I am very strongly experienced in the fire protection industry. I began my career working as a Commissioning Engineer for a large, northwest based fire alarm company. For the last six years of this employment, I moved to the Contracts Manager position for the same company.
During my time as a Contracts Manager, I often needed to use self employed fire alarm engineers and although a handful of these engineers were good, reliable engineers, many were not and it soon became obvious that there was a real lack of good, reliable and competent self employed fire alarm engineers available.
In June 2018, I decided to leave the company which I had been continuously with for 20 years and set myself up as a self employed, sub contract fire alarm engineer.
I cover a large scope of works including installing, maintaining and commissioning of fire alarms, emergency lighting works, heat and carbon monoxide detection, beam detection, wireless and air sampling (aspiration).
